Hello everyone! I am finally back with a new review on the blog today, after spending the last months traveling all around Europe.
THE crucial step that must not be skipped in my skincare routine even during my busy travel schedule is makeup removal. I have tried many types of makeup removers over the past few years and I realized that my favorite way to remove makeup was using oils. I like how fast and easy oils allow me to take-off my makeup as it breaks down makeup particules while I am massaging the product onto my face. Also, I appreciate how gentle it is as it does not require the use of cotton pads which is good for our planet as well.
Today I want to talk about DHC Deep Cleansing Oil which I enjoyed using for the last 6 months. After discovering The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Makeup Remover Oil and the power of oil, I was looking for a similar product to compare it with.
The main difference between the two products is probably the consistency of the oil as the DHC Cleansing Oil has a slightly thicker consistency than The Body Shop Cleansing Oil. Since it is less runny than the later, I feel like I had more control while applying the product on my face. I would usually start my night time routine by massaging my makeup face with a sufficient amount of DHC Cleansing Oil before adding a splash of water in the palms of my hands to emulsify the two liquids into a creamy texture that I end up rinsing off. I have noticed that my face feels moist and plump rather than dry and flaky when using traditional makeup removers. In terms of packaging, the product comes in a 70 ml pump bottle which is super travel-friendly.
The only downside I can find for this product is that the oil tends to leave a light film over the eyes after the first rinse which leads to a few seconds of blurry eyesight so I would recommend to rinse the eye area thoroughly. If you have never tried oil cleansers before, I highly recommend you guys trying this method of cleansing because it is life-changing!
I am trying out different other makeup cleansers recently which I will be talking about in a future review soon on the blog.
